Child Anxiety
Anxiety can cause children to have difficulty functioning. Children struggling with anxiety can sometimes show signs of:
perfectionism
intense worry
fear of being away from caregivers
fear of something bad happening
difficulty sleeping
compulsive behavior
irritability
restlessness
school refusal
perfectionism
It can be alarming to see a child start developing intense fears and avoiding certain situations or places. If you have seen your child’s behavior change recently and recognize some of the above symptoms, your child may be struggling with anxiety.
It can be scary to see your child change from being excited and outgoing, to becoming stressed and overwhelmed by worry. There is hope. There are many evidence-based treatments for child anxiety that are effective. I am committed to working with children and families to help them learn to manage their emotions, gently face their fears and regain the ability to enjoy life.
