How much do you charge FOR THERAPY?

Sessions are $195 for a 50-minute therapy session. I accept cash, checks and all major credit cards, as well as HSA/FSA cards.

I am not in-network with any insurance plans. I am considered an out-of-network provider which means insurance will sometimes reimburse you a portion of my fee for each session. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your “out-of-network” mental health benefits for therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, you would pay my full fee each session and then I would provide you with a statement or “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company. They would then reimburse you for part of my fee. Out-of-network benefits can sometimes cover 50-80% of the cost of a therapy session.

Can you work with people who live outside of the State of Illinois?

When it comes to therapy, my license only allows me to work with people who live in Illinois.

If you are interested in coaching, I have a separate business where I work with gifted and twice-exceptional adults and parents across the globe. You can find more information about coaching at my Instagram page. You can also email me with any questions at aileen.kelleher86@gmail.com

Do you see clients in-person?

No, my practice is 100% telehealth.

Do you do gifted testing?

No, I don’t do testing or assessments, I only provide therapy. If you need referrals for psychologists who do gifted testing, feel free to email me at aileen.kelleher86@gmail.com

WHAT is the age range of the children you see?

I find that I work best with clients ages 9 and up.

How long does therapy take?

This depends on the needs of person. I typically recommend weekly sessions for 3 months with the goal of scaling back once progress is made. I don’t think therapy needs to last forever, and I want to make sure that you are given the tools to succeed on your own. I am goal-oriented and want to see my clients make progress.

What is my role as a parent in my child’s therapy?

Depending on your child’s age and presenting issue, you may be asked to participate in sessions with or without your child. Current research suggests that for many pediatric mental health difficulties, supporting parents in putting strategies in place to help their children is what gets the most effective therapeutic results.
